Custom Small Works & Home Maintenance
Small projects treated like real projects.
Small projects treated like real projects.
There's a category of job that's very hard to get done. Too small for a builder to bother with, too specific for a general handyman, and needing something made to fit rather than bought off a shelf. A gate that has to close over an uneven path. A screen to hide the bins that actually suits the house. A repair on an older home that needs to match what's already there.
Those are the jobs we want. Not because small custom work is profitable on paper — it usually isn't — but because getting them right is the entire reason people call us back and recommend us. We measure, we make it fit, and we finish it so it looks intentional rather than patched.
You've called four people. Two didn't call back, one quoted for a full replacement you don't need, and one never turned up to look.
It functions, but you can see where it was repaired. On a home you actually live in, that's not really finished.
The space is an odd size, the levels don't match, or the existing material isn't made any more. It needs measuring and making, not buying.
Some jobs genuinely need a licensed trade, and some don't. Getting a straight answer on which is which is surprisingly hard.
Where nothing standard works, we build to the space. Gates, screens, planters, storage, steps and the rest.
The repair should be invisible or it should look deliberate. Anything in between isn't done.
If the job needs a licensed electrician, plumber or builder, we'll tell you before quoting instead of taking work we shouldn't.
Got a list that's been building for a year? Send the whole thing. One visit is far cheaper than a call-out per item.
In the order they're usually needed.
No — small jobs are the point. If a single tiny item makes the travel uneconomic we'll say so and suggest batching it with anything else that's been waiting.
No. Those require licensed trades and we don't hold those licences. We'll identify anything in that category up front and point you in the right direction rather than attempting it.
That's a large part of what we do. Older properties often need sympathetic repair rather than replacement, which takes longer and is exactly why other trades decline the work.
We look at it properly first — either on site or from detailed photos and measurements — then give you a fixed itemised price. We don't quote made-to-fit work sight unseen.
If you are in the area, we will come to you — on time, every time.
Itemised quotes back within 24 hours. No obligation, no hard sell — and an honest answer if the job needs a licensed trade instead of us.
